Every outing simply confirms it. Captain has only been under saddle for a short amount of time, yet he continues to exceed every expectation. He has now been to several outings and arena hires and got better and better. Professionally backed and correctly produced, Captain has recently been to Several XC Training days, Showjumping & Dressage and even practised working hunter. He is comfortably schooling nicely on the flat & really shows his quality when he moves. He is very confident in his his cross-country schooling sessions where he proved to be everything you could hope for in a young event prospect. He tackled water complexes, open ditches and a variety of natural obstacles with confidence and maturity well beyond his years. In the open he remained relaxed, rhythmical and rideable, never becoming strong, silly or overwhelmed. His showjumping is coming along very nicely, He is very brave and very careful and shows a lot of scope. Quite simply, you couldn't ask much more of a four-year-old. He has all the ingredients to develop into a top BE pony, while equally having the quality to excel in showjumping or working hunter. To demonstrate his genuine temperament, Captain has also been ridden by an amateur rider, where he proved to be sensible, forgiving and confidence-giving. Whilst this is undoubtedly an exceptionally talented pony for the future, he has also shown himself to be kind, straightforward and genuine. Since he’s been started He has answered every question asked of him with honesty and bravery, taking each new experience in his stride. His exceptional pedigree includes the legendary Ashfield Sparrow, Abbeyleix Fionn, Kilmullen Fionn, Abbeyleix Owen, Cloonisle Cashel and Earl of Newbridge—bloodlines that have consistently produced elite FEI showjumpers and event ponies throughout Europe. His sire line includes Clifden Silver, the international showjumping stallion and puissance winner renowned for clearing a 1.65m wall, matching the Clifden Puissance record. Captain is athletic and intelligent—the qualities that make top competition ponies.
