Rita Stunning 7-Year-Old Ex-Racehorse Mare | 15.2–15.3hh Rita is a beautiful 7-year-old Thoroughbred mare standing approximately 15.2–15.3hh. She retired from racing completely sound simply because she wasn’t quick enough, and has since been carefully and correctly retrained into a genuine, talented all-round riding horse. She is an absolute pleasure to own with the sweetest temperament. Kind, affectionate and easy to handle in every way, Rita is good to catch, groom, wash, shoe, load and travel. She happily turns out with other horses, has no stable vices and is a lovely mare to have around the yard. Under saddle, Rita is forward-thinking without being silly and is always willing to learn. She has three balanced paces and is working nicely on the flat, showing a soft contact and improving outline. She has taken to jumping brilliantly, proving to be brave, careful and honest. Rita has been cross-country schooling, attended busy fun rides and taken everything in her stride. She is bold with ditches, steps, fillers and absolutely loves the water, happily splashing through without hesitation. She has also been to a busy affiliated British Showjumping venue to access the cross-country course, where she behaved impeccably despite the busy atmosphere. She hacks both alone and in company. While she can be a little more confident with another horse when hacking alone, she is exceptionally sensible in traffic and has seen all types of vehicles. She travels well, stands quietly and is a pleasure to take out. Fit, healthy and ready to go, Rita would make a fantastic partner for someone wanting to enjoy riding club activities, fun rides, cross-country, showjumping, hunting or grassroots eventing. She genuinely enjoys having a job and always gives her best. Due to her age and forward-going nature, Rita is not suitable for a novice rider.
