Pond with filter system

A neighbor is getting rid of easy pod for the nexus asked if it would be ideal for the rays but don’t think it’s any good for them is it

Cant stop my small pond going green in a few days tried many things got plants a box filter plus a small filler any help plz will a uv light do it
