Overview:
The Eye Spot Rasbora, also known as the Ocellated Rasbora, is a peaceful and eye-catching freshwater fish recognized for the distinctive “eye spot” located near its dorsal fin. With its shimmering silver body and striking black marking, it’s a perfect addition to a community tank.
Origin:
Native to Southeast Asia, particularly found in slow-moving waters of Borneo, Sumatra, and the Malay Peninsula.
Feeding:
Eye Spot Rasboras are omnivorous and thrive on a varied diet. They enjoy high-quality flakes, micro-pellets, and live or frozen foods like brine shrimp and daphnia.
Tank Mates:
These peaceful fish do well in community tanks with similarly sized, non-aggressive species such as tetras, other rasboras, and small catfish like Corydoras.
Aggression:
The Eye Spot Rasbora is non-aggressive and prefers to school in groups of 6 or more. They are shy and benefit from a peaceful environment.
