WANTED: Suitable land and venues wanted

LANDOWNERS / FARMERS / EVENT VENUES WANTED – NORTH OF ENGLAND & SOUTH SCOTLAND We are currently looking for suitable land and venues to host British Harness Racing events between April and October 2027. We would be interested in hearing from landowners, farmers, agricultural showgrounds, estates or other suitable venues with approximately 15–25 acres of reasonably flat, level ground and good highway access. Our preferred areas are: * County Durham * Cumbria * North Yorkshire * Other locations throughout the North of England * Southern Scotland We are looking primarily to host one-off race meetings throughout the summer, rather than permanently using the land. All race meetings would be run affiliated to the British Harness Racing Club (BHRC), the National Governing Body for harness racing in Great Britain, with the appropriate insurance arrangements in place. The promoter would also take responsibility for arranging any necessary betting licences, alcohol licensing and event requirements. We fully appreciate that this is somebody’s land and livelihood. Every site would be cleaned thoroughly after the meeting and returned in the same condition in which we entered it. We are looking to pay approximately £500–£1,000 per event, depending on the size, suitability and location of the venue. A suitable field with good access could potentially provide a straightforward additional income opportunity for a landowner while also helping us bring harness racing events to different parts of the North.
